Hi, well we’re Dave and Lin and got into triking just over a year ago. Our first trike was the Skoda ‘Swamp Rat’ and you can laugh, but we loved that trike and had a lot of fun on it.
We decided to upgrade a little (well Lin fell for it online – all that sexy chrome!) and bought a Desperate Dan, Preying Mantis – which was another beauty – the only drawback being the single seat on the back. Whilst looking through trikes on the internet, we saw and instantly fell in love with our current trike and here she is.

We bought it from a smashing guy at North West Customs, who even delivered it for us.
Many thanks, Ian!
The first thing we did was get a chrome dressup kit for the engine and two big, loud exhausts – well, you’ve gotta hear it ain’t ya! It needed a bit of tarting up electrics-wise and i had to get my hands dirty and pull it into line. We needed to replace the front brake lever and speedo, and a quick trip to the Stafford Bike Show and those were found and soon fitted. (Did we tell you Dave’s a whiz on v-dubs? – well, getting there!)

When we bought the trike, it just had a straight-through chassis frame, so a load of chequer-plate and a bit of nifty cutting and welding later, and it had a shiny floor.
But oh, those lights! Looked good, but Lin running in front with a torch would have given as much brightness – so off to BJ’s (in Willenhall) and the geezers there soon sorted us with some Bates halogen lights – one big and two ickle ones (remind you of anything?) – a light bar off e-Bay (yes, we have another addict here, but we’re not telling you which she is) – and the Dave said, let there be light, and there was light – loads of it.

Beautiful she is, but for me, comfy wasn’t quite the word! So, another e-Bay search and we found a tractor seat – and now as we go over the bumps, i float like a butterfly (and yes he can sting like a bee!), but Lin needed a bit of softness too. So we added a pair of cover springs to enhance the suspension at the back.
The gaiters had been whipped off the front some months back, but mooching through e-Bay we found a set of truly delectable forks and a spoked wheel – gonna be the next project. Electrics are going to be fully overhauled, battery properly secured (no Dave, a leather trouser belt is not ‘properly’), if time and money allow, back seat is due for a makeover.
PS I’ve been warned off ‘falling in love’ with any more trikes, but a girl’s gotta look aint she?

PPS – coming soon, all about our tarantula trailer! Aint she a beaut!!
